Subject: APICS Southeast District Elections -- Call for Nominations and Election Process Overview
Importance: High

Note: You’ve been blind carbon copied to protect your privacy.

APICS Southeast District Chapter Presidents,

As I mentioned at the recent Southeast District Meeting in Raleigh, I have been appointed the District representative to conduct elections for the District Director and the District Manager.  Both offices carry a two year term (though the initial term this past year for the Southeast District was one year as we transitioned to staggered terms under the new District structure.)

This is the initial call for nominees.  If you are interested in either position or receiving the position descriptions, please contact me directly (e: scampbell@insourcecs.com or p: 704-714-2665).  The nomination application/details can be found on the Southeast District website at: http://www.apicssoutheast.org/Elections.htm.

To be considered for either position, the nomination process is as follows:

-- All completed applications should be submitted to me via email at scampbell@insourcecs.com

-- The deadline for applications is August 22 @ 5:00pm

In addition, the election process is as follows:

-- Chapter presidents will be notified of the candidates for each position within 48 hours of the application deadline.

-- Voting will be held via Webinar on August 27 at 12:00pm (webinar registration details to follow, but put it on your calendar now!)

-- Each chapter is given one vote; the chapter president will cast the chapter’s vote unless a proxy has been previously designated.

-- If more than one candidate has been nominated for a position, each candidate will have up to five minutes to address the participants.

-- Upon conclusion of all candidate comments, each chapter president or their appointed designee will confidentially cast one vote.

-- If no chapter officers are able to participate in the webinar, an absentee vote may be cast in advance.

-- A majority is required to win election; in the case of more than two candidates, a run-off will be held with chapter representatives casting a vote for one of the top two receiving votes from the initial round of voting

If you have any questions, please contact me.  And please put the webinar for August 27th at noon on your calendar now.  If you can’t make it, please designate someone from your chapter to participate (and inform me of the designation.)

Thanks,

Scott
