APICS Corporate Response To Questions Posed During The Broadcast
Instructor Development
Q: What if the courses I taught in years past did not include evaluation submittals?
A: During this initial period, we are willing to take your word for it that you have taught the classes. Since we also require a letter of recommendation from the chapter, the chapter can also help verify that you have taught the classes.
Q: How are classes counted, for example, is the entire Lean Enterprise workshop counted as one course? And if only specific modules of CSCP or CPIM are taught, does that count as a course?
A: Lean Enterprises and CSCP need to be taught in full in order to count as a course if you are pursuing Lead or Master for those programs. You do not have to have taught all of the CPIM courses to pursue Lead or Master for CPIM. However, each CPIM course counts as a course toward instructor experience.
Q: On question 4 of the application, it asks for related work experience for each subject. If a resume is attached, how much detail should we provide?
A: The committee will need some sense to how applicable your work experience is to the courseware for which you are pursuing Lead or Master qualifications. Some level of detail about responsibilities or projects worked on would help. If we do not get enough information to judge the work experience applicability, we may call for additional information or clarification.
Train-The-Trainer
Q: Are the pre-recorded webinars something we can access if we are not taking a TTT course?
A: Yes, any instructor may view these webinars. They can be found at: http://www.apics.org/Education/trainthetrainers
Certification
Q: Have the CSCP CBT cities been identified for the June exam?
A: Not yet. Pearson VUE advises us that there are other organizations which will monopolize their test centers in June and are advising to move the CBT pilot to later in the summer because there will not be enough seats available for our exam candidates in June. The paper and pencil exam is still scheduled for June 20. More information will be posted on the CSCP site on apics.org and there will be communications to the chapters and districts when more details are known. -top-
